PRODUCT INTRODUCTION Cuclav DS

CUCLAV-DS Dry Syrup is a broad-spectrum antibiotic combination containing Amoxycillin and Potassium Clavulanate, formulated for the effective treatment of a wide range of bacterial infections, particularly in pediatric patients. The addition of Clavulanate enhances the antibacterial activity of Amoxycillin by inhibiting beta-lactamase enzymes, thereby improving efficacy against resistant bacterial strains.

Indications and Clinical Use

CUCLAV-DS Dry Syrup is indicated for the treatment of:

  • Upper respiratory tract infections (URTI)

  • Lower respiratory tract infections (LRTI)

  • Otitis media

  • Tonsillitis and pharyngitis

  • Sinusitis

  • Urinary tract infections (UTIs)

  • Skin and soft tissue infections

  • Dental infections

  • Other susceptible bacterial infections as advised by the physician

Mechanism of Action

  • Amoxycillin is a penicillin-class antibiotic that inhibits bacterial cell wall synthesis, leading to bacterial cell death.

  • Potassium Clavulanate is a beta-lactamase inhibitor that prevents enzymatic degradation of Amoxycillin, thereby extending its antibacterial spectrum.

Together, they provide powerful and reliable antibacterial coverage, especially against beta-lactamase–producing organisms.

Dosage and Administration

  • Dosage: As directed by the physician.

  • Reconstitute with the provided sterile water up to the indicated mark.

  • Shake well before each dose.

  • Dosage is based on the child’s age, body weight, and severity of infection.

  • Complete the full prescribed course even if symptoms improve.
